How is my child's privacy protected?

Most district surveys are conducted anonymously. We do not collect names or student ID numbers unless specifically stated for a targeted educational purpose. Data is viewed in the aggregate (group totals) to identify trends and improve school services without identifying individuals.

Can I review the survey questions beforehand?

Yes. Michigan law and the federal Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) grant parents the right to inspect any survey or instructional material. You can find the full list of questions for each active survey in the accordions above.

Can my child opt-out of a survey?

Absolutely. Surveys are voluntary. If you do not wish for your child to participate, you may contact your school's main office.

What does the district do with this data?
