WECC & MSU Preschool Partnership

Since 2004, Michigan State University’s Department of Family and Child Ecology has partnered with Haslett Public Schools to provide a premier early childhood experience at the Wilkshire Early Childhood Center.

Our classrooms are staffed by master-level Head Teachers from MSU and university students, ensuring a research-based, caring environment where children develop independence and creativity through play and hands-on experiences.

Our Philosophy

The program provides children with a variety of individual and group experiences aimed at developing their independence, creativity, and self-esteem through play and hands-on experiences.

As a laboratory school for Michigan State University, our environment bridges the gap between child development research and classroom practice.
